Training young Namibians on the energy sector – sustainable options to meet Namibia’s rising energy demand.
The challenge faced by Namibia today is that domestic energy generation is not adequate to meet current and future projected energy demand. Therefore, government has to take an urgent policy decision on how to reform the energy sector to meet Namibia’s rising demand. The programme is intended to give information on the close interconnection between the different ways of energy production – conventional energy sources, renewable energies and nuclear power -, the protection of the environment and the mitigation of climate change. These topics are closely related and decisions on how to produce Namibia’s energy demand need careful consideration because of repercussions to the environment of the people. |
